Project Associate Manager

Job Purpose and Role Summary

The purpose of this job is to drive the implementation of EDC projects, prioritize them, monitor their progress and take
necessary actions for improvement purposes

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategy and Performance

• Contribute to the formulation and implementation of the PMO strategy and plans as befitting the section needs and objectives
• Set PMO performance objectives and continuously monitor progress and development towards organizational and section strategic objectives

Organization

• Manage the implementation of PMO policies and procedures as per EDC pre-set guidelines in order to ensure the fulfilment of organizational requirements whilst delivering high-quality services
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the PMO by facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards
• Prepare the section yearly budget and continuously follow-up on expenditures to ensure adherence to allocated budget

Operations

• Drive the implementation of all EDC projects and initiatives
• Develop necessary tools and systems to monitor and report on initiatives’ implementation progress
• Set up governance structure for each initiative/ project
• Review and approve project charters and action plans developed by owners
• Prioritize projects as per EDC strategic directions and planning
• Consolidate plans and schedules of all stakeholders involved in the program, and manage master timeline for initiatives implementation
• Follow-up on the implementation of large projects by tracking progress and financials,providing early warning signs and highlighting risks and issues as needed
• Report projects progress to the CEO and identify any issues that need to be addressed
• Resolve issues within and between projects and develop methods to monitor projectprogress and provide corrective supervision if necessary
• Conduct regular meetings with project team, monitor the submission of progress reports and ensure projects are progressing against the set timeline, and take action
  accordingly
• Analyze projects' KPIs measurement results, budget expenditure and resources utilization ratios and provide support to improve performance
• Implement new business opportunities identified by the Strategy Unit
• Identify needed resources for each project and review final deliverables for approval
• Specify the need for external support such as consultants and manage their performance ensuring on time delivery of project deliverables
• Review all relevant reports and develop interpretation for appropriate steering committees, board meetings, project reviews etc. as per EDC’s corporate governance
  arrangements

People Management

• Set individual objectives, manage performance, develop and motivate staff, provide formal and informal feedback and appraisal, and provide guidance on training programs for employees in order to maximize subordinate and section performance

Key Interactions

• Stakeholders - Other Departments: To monitor the implementation of projects
• Stakeholders - Contractors: To monitor their performance

Job Requirements

• Educational Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or any relevant field
• Knowledge - PMP
• Experience - Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
• Additional - MBA is a plus
