Job Purpose and Role Summary
The purpose of this job is to define EDC’s long-term strategy, priorities, and targets and revising them regularly based
on performance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Performance
- Contribute to the formulation and implementation of the strategy and plans as befitting the Office needs and objectives
- Set Strategy performance objectives in coordination with the CEO and continuously monitor progress and development towards organizational and office strategic objectives
Organization
- Lead strategic analysis based on internal and external data of the current performance of EDC, future direction, and business and strategic-related opportunities and challenges for top management decision-making purposes
- Define EDC’s long-term aspirations, strategic plan, top-down goals, and targets, ensuring development and achievement
- Coordinate with Finance for the assessment of long-term strategy funding requirements and sources and the development of EDC’s annual budget based on the annual plan
- Cascade-down aspirations and strategic plan at the department level and define KPIs and targets to increase departmental performance
- Ensure adequate support is provided to departments for the development of annual plans in line with corporate objectives and ensure alignment with overall strategic
objectives - Advice on the selection and execution of strategic partnerships and alliances to successfully achieve the strategy and business plans
- Assess EDC’S performance relative to competitors (in case of market liberalization), perform economic research on an ongoing and ad-hoc basis (e.g., sector analysis, country macro-economic analysis), and accordingly identify new business opportunities that could help EDC and fulfill its strategic ambitions
- Perform SWOT analysis, feasibility studies, and other analyses and case studies to support the identification of strategic directions for the coming period
- Develop risk management strategy and relevant processes for the organization, including identification, assessment, and mitigation of business risk
- Direct the development of related reports for CEO and BOD and the general public for performance monitoring and decision-making purposes
People Management
- Set individual objectives, manage performance, develop and motivate staff, provide formal and informal feedback and appraisal, and provide guidance on training programs
for employees to maximize subordinate and office performance

Job Requirements
- Educational Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or any relevant field
- Knowledge - UAE National Innovation Strategy. UAE Vision
- Experience - Minimum of eight years of relevant experience
- Additional - MBA is a plus
